One of the finest aircraft wrecks in Europe and one of the least visited. Ditched in February 1944 returning from a raid on Austria with two engines out; the crew put her down on the sea off Vis and all ten were rescued by British air-sea rescue based on the island. Vis was an Allied forward airbase in the Adriatic, and several aircraft lie in these waters. Anchorage: Anchor in Komiža bay; the aircraft is a short offshore run.
