A mile of empty beach, bonefish flats behind it, conch in the shallows, and the particular quiet of a place with no engine noise, no aircraft and no other boats. These cays were a wrecking and salvaging ground, then a fishing one. They have no development because there is no fresh water and no harbour, the reason cruisers rate them so highly. Anchorage: Several good anchorages along the west side over sand, with a long beach and one of the better fishing flats in the chain. A single caretaker has lived on the cay on and off for years and is the only person you will meet. Hazards: No facilities, no shelter from the west, and you are a long way from anywhere. Provision and water for the whole trip.
