The largest wreck in Bermuda to 152m of Spanish liner spread across the reef in two sections, so broken up and shallow that snorkellers see plenty. Boilers, propeller shafts and plating scattered over a huge area, with parrotfish and barracuda everywhere. Ran onto the reef at full speed in October 1936, reportedly because her officers mistook the lighthouse pattern. Salvaged, then used as a US bombing target during WWII. Bermuda has around 300 wrecks on its reefs, the densest wreck concentration in the Atlantic. Anchorage: Offshore reef site 8nm out; Hamilton and St George's harbours as base. Hazards: No site-specific hazards noted, brief normally.
