A 300m submerged ridge with sheer walls of soft coral dropping into blue on both sides. Oceanic whitetips patrol the north plateau in autumn and come close enough to be uncomfortable. Hammerheads, grey reefs, and the deep southern plateau at 40m+ with its 'unmarked sarcophagus' myth. Named after an Anglo-Indian shipping figure and long a liveaboard staple. The autumn oceanic whitetip aggregation, genuinely rare for a shore-accessible-by-day-boat site, made it globally famous with underwater photographers. Anchorage: Exposed offshore reef, mooring/liveaboard, no shelter. Hazards: No site-specific hazards noted, brief normally.
