The narrowest place in the Bahamas, 10m of rock separating the deep navy-black Atlantic from the pale turquoise Bight of Eleuthera, the two colours meeting at a single line. Nearby, the Queen's Bath, natural rock pools on the Atlantic shore filled and warmed by breaking swell. Once a natural stone arch, painted by Winslow Homer, until storms destroyed it and a bridge replaced it; a 1992 rogue wave shifted the entire bridge deck seven feet sideways. It remains one of the most tangible demonstrations anywhere of two oceans at different depths side by side. Anchorage: No shelter at the Glass Window itself; anchor at Current Island or Harbour Island and travel overland. Rage waves here have swept vehicles off the bridge, never approach the rocks in swell. Hazards: No site-specific hazards noted, brief normally.
