A 5m, 60-tonne Bahamian girl on one knee holding up the ocean ceiling, the largest single underwater sculpture ever installed. Now furred with fire coral and sponge, patrolled by sergeant majors and the odd eagle ray. Installed 2014 by Jason deCaires Taylor for BREEF, cast from local pH-neutral cement using a Bahamian teenager as the model. A deliberate inversion of the Atlas myth, instead of a Titan punished with the sky, a young girl carries the weight of a dying ocean. Anchorage: Anchor off Clifton Bay in 6-9m sand; exposed to west swell, day stop only. Hazards: No site-specific hazards noted, brief normally.
