Two pinnacles at the tip of Sinai where the Gulfs of Suez and Aqaba collide. In summer the walls disappear behind solid walls of bohar snapper, batfish and barracuda. Then the strangest cargo in diving, hundreds of toilets, bathtubs and sinks scattered across the sand from the wreck of the Yolanda. The Cypriot freighter Yolanda hit the reef in 1980 carrying bathroom fittings; the hull slid into 160m in a 1987 storm but the sanitaryware stayed. Ras Mohammed became Egypt's first national park in 1983, the founding act of Red Sea conservation. Anchorage: Park moorings; Sharm el-Sheikh marina base. Strong current. Hazards: No site-specific hazards noted, brief normally.
