The odd one out in the BVI, a flat coral atoll only 8m high, ringed by the 18-mile Horseshoe Reef, with flamingos in the salt ponds, bonefish flats, wild orchids and Cow Wreck Beach on the empty north shore. Lobster grilled on the beach at Setting Point is the institution. Horseshoe Reef has claimed over 300 ships, one of the greatest wreck concentrations in the Caribbean, including the 1819 Spanish Donna Paula. Anegada's flamingos were hunted out by the 1950s and successfully reintroduced from 1992. Anchorage: Setting Point moorings and anchorage. The approach must be made in good light on the marked track, most charter contracts historically forbade going there at all. Hazards: No site-specific hazards noted, brief normally.
