Called the Adriatic's Titanic, an 85m liner sitting upright and remarkably intact, with railings, portholes, davits and the promenade deck still legible under a dense coat of sponge and gorgonian. Conger, lobster and shoals of bream. Struck an Austro-Hungarian mine, laid by her own navy, in August 1914, three weeks into the First World War, and sank in six minutes with the loss of at least 130 of the 300 aboard, mostly civilians fleeing the front. Protected as a war grave and a monument. Anchorage: Rovinj harbour and the Istrian anchorages; offshore boat dive with a permit requirement. Hazards: No site-specific hazards noted, brief normally.
