'The Silent Evolution' to 450+ life-size human figures standing in crowds on the sand, cast from real Cancún residents and now unrecognisable under coral and sponge. The largest underwater museum on earth to 500+ works across two galleries. Founded 2009 by marine park director Jaime González Cano with Jason deCaires Taylor and Roberto Díaz Abraham, explicitly to pull 750,000 annual divers off the overloaded natural reefs. The shallower Salón Nizuc (4m, snorkel-only) holds the rest. Anchorage: Marine park moorings; anchor in Bahía Mujeres, tender to the site. Hazards: No site-specific hazards noted, brief normally.
