The most beautiful wreck in Truk rather than the most historic, a 152m oiler whose entire superstructure is buried under pink, purple and orange soft coral and giant anemones, with a fully intact operating theatre and medical bottles still on the shelves. A Japanese Navy tanker that refuelled the Pearl Harbor strike force in 1941, sunk by aerial torpedo during Operation Hailstone. Eighty years of undisturbed growth in warm, nutrient-rich lagoon water turned her into a coral garden. Anchorage: Liveaboard. Hazards: No site-specific hazards noted, brief normally.
