House-sized granite boulders tumbled along the shore forming tidal grottoes, pools and cathedral chambers where light comes through gaps in the rock and the water is knee-deep and glowing. You scramble and swim through the whole system to Devil's Bay. Nothing else in the Caribbean looks like it, this is granite in a limestone sea. The boulders are eroded remnants of a volcanic granite batholith that cooled underground 40+ million years ago, then weathered out. Sailors historically watered here, hence 'the Baths'. A BVI National Park since 1990. Anchorage: National Parks Trust day moorings only, no overnight. Exposed to northerly swell in winter, closes regularly. Hazards: No site-specific hazards noted, brief normally.
