A 7km white sandbar that rises out of open water at low tide, with stilt cottages standing in the shallows and nothing else visible in any direction. At high tide it vanishes completely. It is the most surreal 'beach' in Asia because there is no island, just sand in the middle of the sea. Part of the Bais Bay protected seascape. The Tañon Strait alongside is the Philippines' largest marine protected area and holds 11 cetacean species, spinner dolphins in the hundreds, plus Bryde's whales, making this one of the country's best combined wildlife-and-scenery day sails. Anchorage: Anchor off in 5-10m sand; the sandbar is a tide-dependent stop, check the tide table or you will find nothing there. Hazards: Anchor off in 5-10m sand; the sandbar is a tide-dependent stop, check the tide table or you will find nothing there.
