One of the great open-ocean dives and almost nobody has done it. Named after the research yacht of Prince Albert I of Monaco, the oceanographer prince who charted these seamounts in the 1890s and effectively founded modern oceanography. The Azores banned commercial shark fishing on seamounts and now protect a large network of them. Anchorage: Open Atlantic seamount, 45nm offshore, day-boat only in settled weather, no shelter. Hazards: No site-specific hazards noted, brief normally. Altro
