Two 14-foot statues on the seabed of one of only six double barrier reefs on earth, Santo Niño at snorkel-friendly 6-9m, and Our Lady of Danajon far deeper at 24-30m, two kilometres away. Local fishermen dive here to pray. Rarely seen by foreigners, one of the genuine hidden gems on this list. Installed in 2010 by the municipality of Bien Unido inside the Danajon Bank double barrier reef, the Philippines' largest municipally declared MPA, explicitly to remind dynamite and cyanide fishermen that God made the sea. Framing the reef as holy ground did what patrols could not. The world's first underwater pilgrimage was held here in September 2012. Anchorage: Anchor off Bien Unido; boat access to the reef park. Hazards: No site-specific hazards noted, brief normally.
