A 100m Greek cargo steamer lying on her port side down a slope, so intact that the bridge, holds and propeller all read clearly, and coated in sponge with big shoals of bream and conger in the holds. The best wreck dive in the Adriatic after the Baron Gautsch. Ran aground off Vis in March 1939 carrying coal and slid down the slope. Vis was a closed Yugoslav naval base until 1989, so this wreck sat undived by outsiders for fifty years, one reason it is in such good condition. Anchorage: Anchor in Rukavac bay or Vis town; the wreck is a short boat run. Hazards: Lies on a slope from 21m to 55m, easy to go deeper than planned. Deep certification and a guide required.
