Fjord 39 XP Video Review: A Flush Deck and Twin Mercury V10s
By the YachtWay editorial deskUpdated October 2026Video walkthrough7 min read
The Fjord 39 XP is a walkaround dayboat with a wide hardtop and twin Mercury 400 V10 outboards. We walked her at the Palma boat show. The deck is flush from stern to bow, the aft sunbed lifts to reveal a toy locker deep enough for a foil, and the cockpit table opens up to seat eight. Below deck there is a bright cabin with a day bed and a dry head.
A lot of deck for a 39 footer
We started at the stern, where twin Mercury 400 V10s sit behind an aft sunbed with backrests that fold two ways. The wide hardtop typical of Fjord shades the cockpit, the galley and the helm. A walkaround runs down both sides, and because the deck is flush there are no steps to trip over on the way to the bow sunbed.
What stood out on board
- A flush deckThere are no steps from the cockpit to the bow, so nobody trips walking around.
- A toy locker for foilsThe aft sunbed lifts to reveal storage deep enough for a foil or Seabobs.
- Dining for eightThe coffee table folds open into a dining table with four cup holders.
- A gas cooktop on deckA first for us, set under the counter of the cockpit galley with a sink beside it.
- A glass windshieldReal glass on both sides, not plexiglass, so it does not wobble at the helm.
- A dry headA wall keeps the shower wand from soaking the toilet.

The 39 XP is a well thought out dayboat. The flush deck and solid gates make her easy to move around with kids on board, the toy locker swallows foils and Seabobs, and the cockpit seats eight for dinner with a galley right there. The glass windshield and the 16 in Simrad make the helm feel solid. Below deck there is a bright cabin and a dry head for a rest or a night away.
