Frauscher x Porsche eFantom 850 Video Review: A Porsche for the Water

By the YachtWay editorial deskUpdated October 2026Video walkthrough6 min read

The eFantom 850 is a 28 ft electric dayboat built by Austrian yard Frauscher together with Porsche. It uses the same electric motor as the new Porsche Macan. We walked one at a boat show and drove the same model in Monaco. She has a sunbed aft, a cockpit with Porsche-style details, a helm with a Porsche wheel and classic gauges, a bow lounge and a small cabin for four or five.

A Porsche you drive on the water

Frauscher and Porsche have brought Porsche design into a dayboat. The cockpit storage has chrome slats and canvas inserts like a Porsche interior, the helm has a Porsche wheel and stitched seats, and the logo is laser etched into the teak. Underneath it all is a silent electric drive, so you cruise along Monaco without engine noise. It suits lakes, coastal hops or tender duty for a superyacht.

The verdict

The eFantom 850 feels like a Porsche you can take on the water. The finish is exceptional for its size, from the bronze drains to the chrome-slatted storage, and the electric drive makes cruising quiet and easy. It is not a boat for long passages, with about an hour at full speed, but for lakes, coastal hops or tender duty it is a beautiful and fun way to travel.
