Mulder Favorite 2000 Video Review: Timber, Leather and a Tender Garage

By the YachtWay editorial deskUpdated October 2026Video walkthrough8 min read

The Mulder Favorite 2000 is a 68 ft aluminium motor yacht from a Dutch yard that has been building boats since 1938. It sits between the Favorite 1700 and the 2200. We walked the world premiere boat at boot Düsseldorf 2026. She has a tender garage under the aft deck, a sliding sunroof, a full galley, an owner's cabin forward, two guest cabins aft and an engine room you can walk into.

A Dutch yacht where every detail is custom

We started at the stern, where a staircase leads up from the swim platform and a tender garage sits between the steps. Inside, the warm timber, the custom AC grilles and the cushions shaped to match the backrests show how far the yard goes. There is more headroom than we have found on any boat this size. The light mast and radar fold down, so she can pass under low bridges.

What stood out on board

  • A tender garage under the aft deck
Between the stern staircase, with room for a tender up to 3.5 m.
  • A mast that folds down
The light post and radar mast fold flat, so she can pass under low bridges on a trip like the Great Loop.
  • Headroom everywhere
More space above the head than we have found on any boat this size, even in the guest cabins.
  • A sliding sunroof
It opens over the salon, and the aft window drops at the push of a button to join the salon and aft deck.
  • Heated floors and towel rails
A heated floor in the owner's bathroom, and heated towel rails in every bathroom.
  • An engine room you walk into
A full staircase leads down. The wiring is neatly labelled and every bilge pump has its own control.

  • Tender garage.
    Fits a tender up to 3.5 m.
  • Cleats.
Polished, and set in the corners so lines do not block the way aboard.
  • Gates.
They rest in rubber mounts when open, so they do not rattle.
  • Dining table.
Drops at the push of a button to make a large sunbed.
  • Outdoor sink.
A pop-up faucet, with storage below.

Main salon

The salon, with U-shaped seating and a pop-up TV. 05:00

The aft window drops at the push of a button and the door slides open, so the salon and aft deck become one space. Inside, warm timber runs through, and the cushions are shaped to match the curve of the backrests.

  • Details.

    Side-Power bow and stern thrusters.
  • Privacy.

The side decks are deep, with high bulwarks, a high grab rail and pin lights along the way. The foredeck can take cushions, or stay bare for the classic look.

  • Storage.
Lockers at the bow for lines and the anchor chain.
  • Shore power.
A socket at the bow, for marinas where you moor bow in.
  • Anchoring.
A Maxwell windlass in the centre of the foredeck.

Galley and lower lounge

The lower lounge, with a framed TV in the wall. 12:40

A long, curved staircase leads down to the galley on the port side. Across from it there is an L-shaped seating area, with windows on both sides and a view up through the sunroof.

Cabins and engine room

A twin guest cabin, with linen-textured wall panels. 16:10

The owner's cabin is forward and two twin guest cabins are aft. Mulder builds to order, so a full-beam owner's cabin aft is also possible.

  • Access.
A full staircase down from the salon floor.
  • Wiring.
    Neat and labelled throughout.

Each bilge pump has its own control.
The verdict

The Favorite 2000 is about finish. The timber, the leather, the custom grilles and the door handles all feel made for this one boat. She has a tender garage, a sliding sunroof, a mast that folds for low bridges, and more headroom than any boat this size we have been on. Three cabins, a washer-dryer and freezer drawers make long stays easy. We did not sea trial her, so we cannot speak to the ride yet.
