Sunreef 80 Power Video Review: A 40 ft Beam Floating Villa

By the YachtWay editorial deskUpdated October 2026Video walkthrough8 min read

The Sunreef 80 Power is an 80 ft power catamaran with close to 40 ft of beam and about 4,000 sq ft of living space. We walked her from the swim platform to the engine room. She runs on electric propulsion with Volvo generators and solar panels set flush into the deck and hardtop. Inside there is a full-beam salon you lay out yourself, an owner's suite that takes the starboard hull, and three guest cabins, each with its own bathroom.

An 80 ft boat that feels like a house

The number that matters on this boat is the beam: 12 m, just shy of 40 ft. That width carries through every deck. The aft deck seats 10, the salon is one open room with pocket windows, the foredeck has a jacuzzi and more sunbeds than you need, and the flybridge seats 10 to 12 for dinner. Sunreef hands owners an empty canvas: furniture, bars, even the helm position and an office can be laid out to order. This boat was also available for charter when we filmed.

What stood out on board

  • Close to 40 ft of beam
12 m of width on an 80 ft hull gives about 4,000 sq ft of living space across the decks.
  • A garage in the hull
The belly under the aft platform opens up to store jet skis or a tender out of sight.
  • Solar you barely see
Panels sit flush on the decks and hardtop. They look like decals and help offset power use on board.
  • Pocket windows in the salon
The large aft windows slide away so the salon and aft deck become one indoor and outdoor space.
  • Layout to order
Sunreef builds the shell and the owner lays it out. This owner added an office on the main deck.
  • Small touches done well
A tap-to-open wine cooler, a pop-up TV in the salon and owner's cabin, and toilet paper hidden in a cutout.

Aft deck and bar

Outdoor bar with a fridge, ice maker and pop-up faucet. 02:50

Two wide staircases lead up from the swim platform. A rain shower is built into the column so you can rinse off before you sit down.

Backrests fold to turn it into a sunbed.

A bathroom on deck, so guests do not walk through the cabins.

The salon spans the full 12 m beam. A mirror-like ceiling finish makes it feel even bigger.

  • Dining for 8.
Plus a lounge with a TV that pops up from the bar.
  • Office.
The owner added a workstation on the main deck.
  • Wine cooler.
Tap it and it opens, and it closes itself.
  • Helm.
Raymarine screens, battery and solar status, VHF and autopilot. Switches sit under glass so nobody bumps them.

Foredeck and side decks

You can walk straight out of the salon onto the foredeck. The side decks are wide and the grab rails are high, so it is safe with kids or pets on board.

  • Jacuzzi.
With its own sunbed beside it.

Backrests recline so you can sit up and take in the view.

Flybridge

Second helm on the flybridge, with a bench for guests. 10:40

A lid closes over the flybridge stairway so nobody falls through it. Up top, the hardtop gives shade and the breeze runs straight through.

  • Sun lounge.
Full beam at the aft end.
  • Dining for 10 to 12.
    Free-standing furniture you can move.
  • Summer kitchen.

Four cabins, each with its own bathroom

The owner's bathroom, finished in onyx. 13:45

The owner's suite takes the starboard hull. Guest cabins sit in the port hull. Ceilings are padded, and our 6 ft 1 in presenter had room to spare. At the dock, the cabins were very quiet.

Its bathroom sits between the bed and the engine room for extra sound insulation.
  • Forward VIP.
A lounge that can sleep kids and a larger-than-queen bed.
  • Showers.
    Stone finish, with benches.
The verdict

The Sunreef 80 Power gives you the space of a much bigger boat. Close to 40 ft of beam means a full-width salon, a foredeck with a jacuzzi, a flybridge that seats 12 and four cabins with their own bathrooms. Electric drive, Volvo generators and flush solar panels make it quiet and cut fuel use. The layout is built to order, so each one is different. If you want to try before you buy, this one was available for charter when we filmed.
