A 111m Canadian destroyer escort lying on her side in 30m, thick with metridium anemones and sheephead, alongside the rest of Wreck Alley, the research tower Ruby E and the Yukon's neighbours on the same stretch of sand. A Cold War destroyer escort of the Royal Canadian Navy, laid down in the 1960s, sold to San Diego and prepared for sinking as an artificial reef in 2000. A storm sank her the night before the ceremony and she went down on her side rather than upright, which is why she dives the way she does. Anchorage: Use the mooring buoys rather than anchoring on the wreck. Yachts lie in Mission Bay or San Diego Bay. Hazards: She lies on her port side, not upright, which turns the interior into something disorienting. Penetration is for trained wreck divers only, and the depth puts most of the hull into decompression planning.
