Water clear enough that the bay is named for an aquarium, with sand and seagrass bottom, small reef fish and enough visibility from the deck to count the links of your chain. It is the anchorage people book a gulet for. The Fethiye gulf is the old Lycian Telmessos, and the rock tombs cut into the cliffs above the town are 4th century BC. The gulet fleet that works these bays grew out of the sponge-diving and boatbuilding trade of Bodrum and Marmaris. Anchorage: One of the classic overnight anchorages of the Fethiye gulf, flat water and clear enough to see your own anchor set. Hazards: Day-boat traffic; swim inside a marked area.
