A wall that starts in six metres of water and falls almost two kilometres, the shallowest start to a deep wall anywhere. Sponges the size of armchairs, black coral, hawksbill turtles and a vertigo that never wears off. Uniquely, snorkellers can hang over the lip and look straight down into blue-black. Part of Bloody Bay Marine Park, protected since 1986 with moorings instead of anchors from the outset. Little Cayman has around 200 permanent residents and no cruise-ship berth, which is why the reef is in the condition it is. Anchorage: Marine park moorings only; anchor in the lee off Little Cayman's south side. Hazards: No site-specific hazards noted, brief normally.
