Widely voted the single best dive site in the world. You clip a reef hook into dead rock at the plateau edge and hang like a kite in 3-knot current while grey reef sharks, big-eye jacks, napoleon wrasse, eagle rays and turtles stream past in an unbroken parade. Palau created the world's first shark sanctuary in 2009, banning commercial shark fishing in its entire EEZ, the reason Blue Corner still has apex predators when comparable reefs don't. Palau also pioneered the reef-hook technique now used worldwide. Anchorage: Superb anchorages throughout the Rock Islands lagoon (permits required). Hazards: No site-specific hazards noted, brief normally.
