Sculptures set along the pylons of the longest timber-piled jetty in the Southern Hemisphere (1.8km), plus an 8m-deep underwater observatory. The piles themselves are the attraction to 300+ species of tropical and temperate coral and sponge coating them in colour, a phenomenon called the 'Busselton anomaly'. The 1865 jetty was abandoned, burned and cyclone-battered before locals saved it. The sculpture trail was added from 2019 to give snorkellers a reason to swim the piles, which host a coral community no ecologist expected this far south. Anchorage: Anchor in Geographe Bay in 5-8m sand; well sheltered from easterlies. Hazards: No site-specific hazards noted, brief normally.
