A 4m, 2-tonne bronze Christ on a 20-tonne concrete base, arms up toward the light, ringed by living Elkhorn coral. Shallow enough that snorkellers get the full silhouette from above, one of the few world-class statue dives you can do on one breath. The second of three casts from Galletti's original mould, gifted in 1961 by Italian dive-gear industrialist Egidi Cressi to the Underwater Society of America and sunk at Key Largo Dry Rocks on 25 August 1965. It is now the most-visited underwater statue on earth and a working coral-restoration site. Anchorage: No anchoring, sanctuary mooring buoys only at Dry Rocks. Hazards: No site-specific hazards noted, brief normally.
