A two-mile perfect crescent of white sand in graded turquoise, backed by scrub and a lagoon, with nothing built on most of it. On a day with no ship in, you will have one of the finest beaches in the Caribbean to yourself. Leased to Holland America and used as a private cruise destination since the 1990s, with the interior maintained as a bird reserve. Before that it was uninhabited scrub, which is what most of it still is once you walk past the developed strip. Anchorage: Anchor in the crescent in white sand with superb holding. On a no-ship day it is one of the most beautiful anchorages in the Bahamas. Hazards: Privately leased; landing rights vary. Time your visit around the cruise-ship calls or you will share it with 3,000 people.
