Granite drop-offs and boulder fields in very clear water, with dentex, grouper and barracuda, gorgonian at depth, and a seabird colony above the surface that is the reason the whole group is closed to people. The Cerbicale were declared a nature reserve in 1981 to protect Audouin's gull and shag colonies. Corsican dive centres treat them as the technical alternative to the busier Lavezzi, twenty miles south. Anchorage: Anchor in the Gulf of Porto-Vecchio or off Palombaggia; the islets are a short run out. Hazards: Depths of 25-50m with frequent current, and a reserve where landing is prohibited.
