The world's most accessible reef to 85+ named dive sites, most reachable from the shore or a mooring, with a healthy fringing reef starting in 5m and dropping to a wall. Turtles, tarpon, seahorses, frogfish and the Caribbean's best remaining coral cover. Klein Bonaire's uninhabited reefs are the best of it. Bonaire banned spearfishing in 1971 and coral collection in 1975, then established the marine park in 1979, decades ahead of the region. Every diver pays an annual nature fee. It is the standing proof of what long-term protection does to a Caribbean reef. Anchorage: Strict no-anchor marine park, moorings only. Harbour Village and Kralendijk berths. Hazards: No site-specific hazards noted, brief normally.
