A Civil War paddle-steamer with her paddle wheels, boiler and bow still recognisable in 17m of clear water. Sand shifts constantly here, periodically uncovering new artefacts. A Confederate blockade runner carrying arms to Wilmington, she hit a reef in September 1864, only the ship's cook died, having gone below for his belongings. In 2011 a storm exposed a sealed compartment containing intact bottles of wine, perfume and hair dye from 1864; the wine was analysed and partly recreated. Anchorage: Offshore south-shore site; Hamilton base. Hazards: No site-specific hazards noted, brief normally.
