Granite islets with sand beaches, clear shallow water over coral, floating fish farms you can eat lunch at, and a lighthouse hill on Hòn Lớn with the whole archipelago laid out below. It is a boating destination first and a snorkelling one second. Nam Du sits in the Gulf of Thailand off the Cambodian border, historically a smuggling and fishing ground rather than a tourist coast. Domestic tourism only reached it in the 2010s, and there is still no airport. Anchorage: Twenty-one islands with protected water between them and a working fishing village on An Sơn, one of the best-sheltered cruising pockets in the Gulf of Thailand. Hazards: Fishing gear and nets throughout; navigate by daylight.
