A German heavy cruiser lying upside down with her stern and one bronze propeller almost breaking the surface. You swim along an inverted armoured hull, 200m of it, with the main turrets hanging beneath. Bismarck's companion on the 1941 Atlantic sortie that sank HMS Hood, and the only major German warship to survive the war largely intact. Handed to the US as a war prize, used as a target in the 1946 Bikini atomic tests, then towed to Kwajalein where she capsized and sank in December 1946. One propeller was recovered in 1979 and stands as a memorial in Germany. Anchorage: Kwajalein is a US Army installation, access requires clearance; verify before routing. Hazards: No site-specific hazards noted, brief normally.
