Four sea caves you can swim into, one running back thirty metres into the cliff with the light going green behind you, silversides in clouds, and, after five o'clock, an empty bay that ninety boats just left. Norman Island is the usual candidate for Stevenson's Treasure Island, and treasure genuinely was recovered from these caves in the 18th century. The Bight next door is the busiest anchorage in the BVI. Anchorage: The bay with the Caves at its western end. Everyone snorkels it, then moves round to the Bight a few hours before sunset for the bar, so if you stay, you have the anchorage and the sunset to yourself. Hazards: Exposed if the swell comes north or west, and the fleet motoring in and out of the Bight passes close.
