A trench dropping to around 85m that the Thai navy used as an ordnance dumping ground, so the bottom is scattered with shells and munitions casings alongside dumped vehicles, all of it in dim green Gulf water. Purely a technical objective, and not a pretty one. The Sattahip naval base needed somewhere to dispose of surplus ordnance and used the natural hole offshore. Thai technical divers began mapping it in the 2000s. The munitions are treated as live, nothing is touched or lifted. Anchorage: Anchor among the Samae San islands, a naval area with restrictions ashore. Hazards: 85m in low visibility over dumped munitions. Trimix, deco planning and a serious team, or stay out.
