A 110m Libyan tanker now broken in two by winter storms, sitting on sand with the accommodation block and engine room open to penetration. Amberjack, dentex and barracuda over the deck; the reef between the halves is dense with life. A gas explosion during maintenance in Malta Drydocks in February 1995 killed nine Maltese dockyard workers. The ship was declared beyond repair and scuttled in 1998 as a reef and a memorial, there is a plaque aboard for the nine. Anchorage: Exposed south coast; anchor off in settled weather or shore-dive from Wied iz-Żurrieq. Hazards: No site-specific hazards noted, brief normally.
