A 100m cutter standing perfectly upright, crow's nest at 27m, deck at 30m, with reef sharks, huge barracuda and jack schools using her as a current break. One of the most reliably 'shipshape' wreck silhouettes in the Keys. Commissioned 1936, she served in the Atlantic convoys, sank U-boat U-77's escort group companion, took part in the Vietnam War and the Mariel boatlift, and was the oldest commissioned US warship when retired in 1985. Scuttled in November 1987. Anchorage: Sanctuary mooring buoys; strong Gulf Stream current. Hazards: No site-specific hazards noted, brief normally.
