Questo esemplare usato molto poco dall’armatore, tenuta sempre al coperto  con manutenzioni del cantiere proprietario. Cigarette 38’ Top Gun, un missile da 60 nodi che ha dominato tanto la scena offshore, tanto il mercato e l’eterna estate americana, nella sua versione da diporto. Un cult infinito e, soprattutto, in produzione tutt’ora.

Il colpo d’occhio, su questo genere, comanda. Le linee sono iconiche, slanciate come poche altre e sempre caratterizzate da livree accattivanti, sempre diverse. La prua sembra non finire mai, occupando oltre mezza lunghezza dello scafo, con una tendenza a ridiscendere verso l’acqua man mano che si avvicina al dritto di prua. La poppa, da parte sua, è invece un corpo squadrato, spigoloso, e accoglie un prendisole unico a tutto baglio alla sua estremità, riservandosi, verso il centro barca, per un pozzetto incassato e ben riparato. Interni

Spostando l’attenzione agli spazi interni è necessario partire da un presupposto, già implicito nel nome del brand: Cigarette Racing. I Cigarette nascono come scafi da competizione, missili progettati per regatare offshore, volando sull’acqua e ottimizzando ogni briciolo di scafo in funzione della performance. Gli interni, per conseguenza, sono una caratteristica che prende piede in una fase successiva alla progettazione. Sono parte di un redesign specificatamente studiato per il mercato del diporto. Ma, comunque sia, lo spirito è quello di uno scafo con cui godere dei propri joyride, piuttosto che per la crociera. Ma il cantiere non nega a nessuno la possibilità di goderne come fosse un weekender, offrendo spazio per dormire a bordo, per due persone.

This unit has been used very little by the owner and has always been kept indoors, with all maintenance carried out by the brand’s own shipyard. The Cigarette 38’ Top Gun is a 60-knot missile that has dominated both the offshore scene and the market—and even the endless American summer—in its pleasure-craft version. An everlasting cult icon, and above all, still in production today.

With this kind of boat, the first impression is everything. The lines are iconic—sleek like few others—and always paired with captivating, ever-changing liveries. The bow seems endless, taking up more than half the hull’s length, with a gentle downward slope as it approaches the stem. The stern, on the other hand, is more squared and angular, featuring a full-beam sunpad at the edge and, further toward the center of the boat, a recessed and well-protected cockpit.

Interiors

Moving to the interior spaces, it’s important to start with a key premise already implied by the brand’s name: Cigarette Racing. Cigarettes were born as competition hulls—missiles designed for offshore racing, flying over the water and optimizing every inch of hull for pure performance. As a result, the interiors are a feature that comes later in the design phase, as part of a specific redesign intended for the pleasure-boating market.

Still, the spirit remains that of a boat built for thrill rides rather than cruising. Nevertheless, the shipyard certainly doesn’t deny anyone the chance to use it as a weekender, offering sleeping accommodation on board for two people.
