Vessel Description

1930 Frederikssund Skibsvaerft Gaff Schooner for Sale in Marseille, FR

André Barbier Highlight: Rare 38m twin-masted schooner for sale, commissioned in 1930 by Danish Olympic champion Wilhelm Vett. Built at Frederikssund and designed by Baron Wedell-Wedellsborg, she is recognised as Danish Maritime Heritage and offers a unique restoration opportunity.

This exceptional 38-metre twin-masted schooner is a rare piece of Danish maritime heritage, offered for sale. Commissioned in 1930 by Danish Olympic champion Wilhelm Vett, founder of Copenhagen’s iconic Magasin du Nord, she was built at Frederikssund Skibsværft and designed by Ernst Gustav Baron Wedell-Wedellsborg, the renowned naval architect behind King Christian X’s 10-metre class yacht Rita VI. Her distinguished provenance continued under her second owner, celebrated Danish shipowner Ivar Lauritzen.

Officially recognised as Dansk Maritim Kulturarv (Danish Maritime Heritage), the yacht underwent a meticulous multimillion-euro restoration completed in 2005 under the ownership of Mikael Krafft, founder of the Star Clippers fleet. The refit, managed by naval architect A. von Lindholm with interiors by Donald Starkey, was a finalist for Best Refit at the 2006 Superyacht Awards.
