The Oyster 485 is a Holman and Pye design with low freeboard, a gentle sheerline, and balanced ends. She is a popular bluewater cruiser for those seeking a yacht under 50 feet. Her length allows for a separate shower in the owner’s head, and a dedicated generator space, just aft of the engine. Featuring a deck saloon in style with her three cabin layout, and a center cockpit, the 485 is a sleek and comfortable world cruising yacht that is easily handled by a couple. Construction

Hull, Deck & Superstructure Construction:

• Single skin solid GRP hull, hand laid up with balsa sandwich deck.
• Hull white with blue boot stripe and cafe style lines
• Teak decks and cockpit (Epoxy vacuum bagged)
• Hull epoxied.
• ALL underwater thru-hull fittings were replaced (2020).
• Hull Antifauling Painted

Keel & Rudder:

• Externally bolted high-performance lead bulb keel.
• Rudder with stainless stalk mounted on the full-length skeg.
• Delrin bushings replaced (top and bottom) (2020)
• Bronze rudder bearing replaced (2020)

Electrical Systems
