Riva 88 Folgore: Built to Order

The Riva 88 Folgore starts at the water. A teak swim platform sits just above the sea, with a swim ladder that folds into it and a hot-and-cold shower at the stern. Behind the platform, an electro-hydraulic hatch opens onto a garage arranged for a tender and a jet ski, and the same hatch lowers to launch them. Steps with stainless steel handrails lead up to a teak cockpit with a sofa, a natural teak table and a pair of glass and stainless-steel gates at the stern.

Teak side walkways carry you forward to the bow, where a sofa, a sun pad and a small dinette with its own speakers face the open water. Above, a stainless-steel stairway with teak steps climbs to the flybridge. Here, a wide sun pad, chaise longues to port and starboard with storage beneath, a sofa, and a second helm station let you run the boat from up top in the open air.

Inside, the lounge features freestanding fabric sofas and a television that rises and lowers on an electric lift. The dining table seats eight beneath a recessed, lacquered lighting border. The galley has Corian worktops, a side-by-side refrigerator and freezer, a dishwasher, and a glass-ceramic cooktop. At the helm, the pilot seats are upholstered in technical fabric, and a bow thruster joystick and Riva’s “easy dock” system make the boat easier to manage in a marina.

Below are four guest cabins, each with its own bathroom. The master has a headboard and bed surround in saddle leather, a walk-in wardrobe, a vanity with a folding mirror, an armchair, and a safe. A second double cabin and a port guest cabin carry the same saddle leather details. The starboard cabin has two single beds, and its bathroom also serves as a day head, reached from the lower lobby. The crew has their own quarters: two cabins, two bathrooms, a lobby with a washer and dryer, and a separate hatch down from the cockpit.
