Axopar 29 CCX Video Review: A Fishing Axopar With a Hidden Cabin
By the YachtWay editorial deskUpdated October 2026Video walkthrough6 min read
The Axopar 29 CCX is a new version of the 29, made for the US market and for anglers. We walked her at her launch. The hardtop is pushed forward to the middle of the boat with rod holders on top, the gunwales are higher and padded, and the handrails sit flush so lines do not tangle. There are two sinks and two fridges, and a cabin under the bow sleeps up to three with a toilet.
A Swiss Army knife for fishing
Axopar made the 29 CCX for people who want the Axopar experience but also want to fish. The open aft deck leaves room to fight a fish, with a leaning post and live wells on the US layout. The higher gunwales and the windshield are made for rougher seas, and the boat carries a CE B rating for offshore and coastal cruising.

The 29 CCX takes what works on the Axopar 29 and adds what anglers ask for. The hardtop is pushed forward with rod holders on top, the gunwales are higher and padded, and the windshield keeps the spray off on rough days. Two sinks, two fridges and a grill mount cover lunch, and the cabin under the bow means a nap offshore is possible. She is a good fit for anglers who also want a day boat.
