Vanquish VQ55 Outboard Video Review: Five V12s and a Toy Garage
By the YachtWay editorial deskUpdated October 2026Video walkthrough7 min read
The Vanquish VQ55 Sports Line Outboard is a 55 ft aluminium dayboat that joins the VQ40, VQ16 and VQ11 in the sports range. We walked a brand new one in Miami. Five Mercury 600 V12 outboards hang off the stern, and the aft sunbed lifts over a toy garage big enough for two Seabobs and a foil. Midships there is a dining area, a bar and a galley, then a helm with four seats. The bow has a lounge that becomes a sunbed, and below there is an owner's berth, a twin cabin and a head.
Superyacht detail at 55 ft
Everything on the VQ55 feels built for a much bigger yacht. The side door hinges are cut by CNC in-house, hand polished and PVD coated. The fuel lids are held by magnets, and even the cleats drain away rainwater. Crockery and glasses sit in foam so nothing breaks at speed. The generator is a Northern Lights, a brand more often seen on superyachts.

- A real ice makerA Hoshizaki, the brand many top bars use.
- A hidden anchorA lid lifts at a button and a Delta anchor folds out.
- Side wind doorsThey steer the wind away from the cockpit at speed.

The VQ55 Sports Line Outboard is a dayboat with superyacht detail. Five V12s give it huge power while staying quiet, the toy garage swallows a foil and two Seabobs, and the bar and galley make long days on the water easy. Below, a cabin, a twin cabin and a proper head add comfort. We did not take her out, so we cannot speak to her speed or ride.
