German Naval Yards (GNY) has secured a new contract to construct the steel hull and aluminium superstructure for a 100-metre-plus superyacht currently in build at Abeking & Rasmussen. The project, first announced earlier this year, is expected to exceed 4,500GT, positioning it among the larger vessels in the German yard’s current pipeline, though final specifications remain undisclosed.

The collaboration reflects a continued trend of strategic partnerships between leading Northern European shipyards, particularly on technically complex, large-scale builds. According to GNY, the agreement highlights both companies’ ability to execute highly engineered projects while maintaining the precision and quality associated with German yacht construction.

Alongside this new contract, GNY continues work on the 114-metre Project ELF, acquired in October 2025, further strengthening its presence in the large-yacht segment. Part of the CMN Naval Group, the yard is known for its involvement in landmark projects such as the 142.8-metre Sailing Yacht A and remains an active player in both commercial and superyacht construction, with ongoing strategic interest from major defence and maritime groups.
