Jeff Bezos Yacht - The Superyacht Koru

Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, is the owner of the luxury custom superyacht Koru. Constructed by Oceanco in the Netherlands, Koru is a three-masted sailing yacht measuring 127 meters in length, making it the largest sailing yacht in the world. The yacht features a navy blue hull and is reported to have cost over $500 million, with an annual maintenance cost of at least $30 million.

In April 2023, Koru was delivered to Bezos and has since been spotted in various locations, including a Mediterranean cruise with his fiancée, Lauren Sánchez. The yacht is accompanied by a 75-meter support vessel named Abeona, built by Damen Yachting, which provides additional crew accommodations, a helipad, and storage for various amenities.
Koru's design includes a steel hull and an aluminum superstructure, with three towering masts measuring over 70 meters each. The yacht can accommodate up to 18 guests and a crew of 36. The name "Koru" is derived from the Māori word meaning "new beginnings," reflecting a symbol of growth, strength, and peace.

The yacht has garnered significant attention, not only for its size and luxury but also for the logistical challenges during its construction. In 2022, there were plans to temporarily dismantle the historic De Hef bridge in Rotterdam to allow Koru to pass through; however, this plan was eventually deemed unnecessary.
Koru represents a significant addition to the fleet of luxury yachts owned by tech moguls, showcasing advancements in yacht design and engineering.
