Dutch shipyard Oceanco has confirmed a landmark contract to build its largest superyacht to date, the 130-metre Project Y727. The announcement, made at the 2025 Monaco Yacht Show in partnership with Lloyd’s Register, underscores a bold new chapter for the yard as it pushes the boundaries of scale, design, and sustainability.

This agreement extends Oceanco’s 38-year collaboration with Lloyd’s Register, ensuring that the new flagship meets the highest standards of safety and quality. Early design sketches reveal sweeping glass features—an ambitious architectural choice that will require meticulous classification to comply with the strictest safety regulations.

“Oceanco has embarked on an ambitious next chapter,” said Marcel Onkenhout, CEO of Oceanco. “This vessel represents not only a leap in scale but also in ambition, uniting design innovation with uncompromising safety and quality.”

At 130 metres, Project Y727 surpasses the 111-metre Leviathan, launched earlier this year, and positions itself as a statement of intent. While details remain under wraps, the shipyard has indicated that the yacht will set new benchmarks in sustainability, technology integration, and long-range cruising capability.

Engel-Jan de Boer, Yacht Segment Director at Lloyd’s Register, emphasized the significance of the collaboration: “Our enduring relationship with Oceanco is built on mutual respect and a shared pursuit of excellence. This project exemplifies what can be achieved when innovation meets integrity.”

The launch of Project Y727 comes amid a transformative year for Oceanco. Following its acquisition by technologist Gabe Newell, the shipyard has doubled down on its vision to create superyachts for sale which marry advanced technology, environmental responsibility, and experiential ownership.

For Oceanco, Project Y727 is more than just its largest yacht yet—it is a flagship for the future, signaling a shift toward scale, technical sophistication, and the changing demands of modern yacht ownership.
