Rafael Nadal has taken a minority stake in Ocean Platform Marinas (OPM) through his investment vehicle Aspemir, marking a notable crossover between global sport and the superyacht infrastructure sector.

Backed by Ocean Capital Partners, OPM focuses on the development and operation of marinas designed for large yachts, with an active footprint across Ibiza, Málaga and Seville. The company is positioning itself to address one of the Mediterranean’s most pressing challenges: the shortage of high-quality superyacht berths. Several new projects are already in the pipeline, aimed at expanding capacity while integrating modern, sustainable marina design with surrounding urban environments.

With Aspemir joining existing shareholders alongside Ocean Capital Partners, Grupo Empresas Matutes and Domingo de Torres, the move brings both capital and global visibility to OPM’s expansion strategy: reinforcing the growing importance of infrastructure in the next phase of yachting’s growth.
