Sanlorenzo Unveils the 58Steel: A New Standard for 55–60m Superyachts

Fifteen years after rewriting the rulebook for steel superyachts, Sanlorenzo introduces the 58Steel, the next evolution of its impressively iconic steel range. Longer, wider, quieter and more flexible than its predecessor, the 57Steel, the new model establishes a fresh benchmark in the competitive 55 to 60 metre class.

The first unit, Perla Lunar, has now been delivered, with hull No. 2 already in build, marking the debut of a yacht designed not just for today, but for the next era of sustainable luxury.

A Leap Forward in Design, Volume and Flexibility

At 58 metres with a 10.8-metre beam, the 58Steel offers interior volumes approaching those of a 64-metre yacht. A completely redesigned platform allows for unprecedented layout freedom, including:

• Two full-beam VIP suites on the Lower deck
• A Supreme VIP on the Main deck
• An Owner’s Deck conceived as a private residence, complete with panoramic suite, pool, office, dressing area and convertible cinema lounge

At the stern, the beach club unfolds on three sides, transforming into a floating terrace with bar, hammam, gym and beauty salon: all connected to the sea through light, openness and near-silent ambience.

“This yacht redefines proportion, privacy and performance,” said Massimo Perotti, Executive Chairman of Sanlorenzo. “With the expanded steel line, we continue to set the benchmark for yachts under 2,000 GT.”

A Silent Revolution: Diesel-Electric Hybrid Propulsion

At the heart of the 58Steel is Sanlorenzo’s first diesel-electric propulsion system for its steel fleet, an applause-worthy leap for sustainable superyachting.

The system delivers:

• 10% fewer emissions than traditional propulsion
• Up to two hours of silent cruising
• Up to eight hours of zero-emissions hotel mode
• Significantly reduced vibration and noise

Powered by five 425 kW generators, a 1 MWh battery pack and azimuthal pods, the system also condenses the entire engine room onto a single deck, which frees up 40 square metres of additional guest space.

“This is evolution, not repetition,” said Tommaso Vincenzi, CEO of Sanlorenzo. “The 58Steel expands the boundaries of space, efficiency and emotional connection with the sea.”

Interiors: Made-to-Measure Luxury

Sanlorenzo’s Style Department crafted a warm, refined interior palette featuring dark woods, Calacatta Borghini marble, mother-of-pearl detailing and champagne metal accents. Every piece aboard is custom designed, expressing the shipyard’s signature restraint and timeless elegance.

Highlights include:

• A Main deck lounge opening directly onto an infinity pool
• Panoramic VIP suites with full-height windows
• An Owner’s bathroom conceived as a spa retreat over the water

Exteriors: Sculptural Strength with Timeless Proportion

Designed by Zuccon International Project, the exterior lines express Sanlorenzo’s architectural approach to steel: clean, sculptural, and free of excess. An extended Bridge deck enhances both form and function, while the three-sided beach club remains one of the most striking statements in the segment.

A New Chapter for Sanlorenzo Steel

The first 58Steel, Perla Lunar, was sold by Arcon Yachts of Monaco, adding another milestone to Sanlorenzo’s 15-year leadership in steel yacht design. With six distinct models now spanning the under-2000 GT category, the brand continues to define the future of superyachting through elegance, proportion and meaningful innovation.

It's beautiful to see that for Sanlorenzo, steel is more than just a material. And of course, if you happen to be in the market for a Sanlorenzo yacht for sale, there's no place better to begin your search than YachtWay.com, the most modern yacht marketplace in the world. ⛵︎
