Istria's wild southern tip to 30km of indented limestone coast with tiny coves, sea caves, cliff jumps and no development at all, plus dinosaur footprints in the rock at Grakalovac. Snorkelling over rock and posidonia with octopus, bream and the odd seahorse. Protected as a landscape park after locals fought off a resort development. The cape's coast holds theropod dinosaur tracks and Roman quarry marks, and 530 plant species including 20 orchids, an unusual density for a cape that is essentially bare rock. Anchorage: A dozen small coves either side of the cape. Nothing is all-weather, Medulin bay is the retreat. Hazards: Exposed cape with wind acceleration around the point; the Safari Bar cliff jumps have caused injuries.
