A 1930s Italian steamer broken across a rocky slope from 10m to 34m, boilers, winches, hull plating and the propeller shaft spread out, with light flooding the shallow sections and dense fish life. Perfect for a first Adriatic wreck. Ran onto the Mali Barjak rock in 1930 carrying a cargo of coal; the crew were saved by Komiža fishermen. Komiža is the historic centre of Adriatic fishing and its falkuša, a distinctive lateen-rigged fishing boat, is still built here. Anchorage: Anchor in Komiža bay; the wreck lies off the Mali Barjak islet. Hazards: Exposed islet, swell closes it. Broken and scattered, so watch for entanglement.
