Founded in 1875 in Bremen, Germany, the yard remains family-owned across four generations and operates facilities in Lemwerder, Berne, and Bremen. Lürssen has built 35 of the global top 100 superyachts by length, including Azzam at 180.61 metres, delivered in 2013 as the world's largest motor yacht, and Dilbar at 156 metres, the world's highest-volume superyacht. The yard delivered its first fuel-cell superyacht, Nausicaä, in 2026.
